St. Petersburg is often called Venice of the North. Boats and large cruise ships run along its canals and rivers. In the west of Vasilyevsky Island there is the Marine Station mooring complex. It resembles a ship with a mast from a distance. This complex was built in the 80s of the XXth century. It accommodates cruise and ferry cargo and passenger ships.

There are 5 berths.Passengers undergo customs and border control in a specially designated place. On the territory there is a hotel where everyone is staying, and a cafe with a varied cuisine.

St Peter Line ferries to Helsinki, Tallinn and Stockholm leave from the Marine Station mooring complex. Individual and group tours for these cities are provided. Cruise tickets can be purchased on the official website.

In 2011, the construction of the new passenger port Marine Facade on the Neva Bay was completed. Vessels longer than 200 meters arrive at this port. Residents of Russia can get into our city through the river station (on Obukhovskoy Oborony prospect), and also use the Utkina Zavod' and Solyanoy dock, which are located on Oktyabrskaya embankment, near the Vantovy Bridge.

The main river route is from Moscow to St. Petersburg and back. Passenger ships come to St. Petersburg from Novgorod, Perm, Kazan, Samara. Among Petersburgers are popular trips to the Solovetsky Islands and the Valaam, travels along the Don and the Volga.

There is another so-called water attraction, which is loved by both adults and children. From Peterhof, a beautiful suburb with fountains, you can get to Petersburg by meteor boat. In half an hour you will be brought to the very center of the city, to the pier at the Hermitage.

It is impossible to arrive at the North Palmyra by water in winter, the navigation period is from the end of April to October. A river trip will give you a boost of energy when the weather is nice outside. Just wait for the sunny mood and go!
